Suryagarh Jaisalmer – a divine intervention of the Gods and Kings

Picture this - undulating landscape filled with mystique and breathtaking views of a vast stretch of the Thar dunes, the palatial premises, and forts. One of the reason luxury hotels and resorts choose Rajasthan as the place for these divine interventions.

Amidst the many beautiful hotels and palaces turned luxury or heritage hotel; one that truly stands out is the stunning bespoke Hotel Suryagarh Palace Jaisalmer. The breakthrough concept of Manvendra Singh Shekhawat, the palace-hotel is a newly erected structure and not a heritage monument. Manvendra Ji wanted to carve a space, tall in solitary splendor, which would celebrate the land, and thereby enhance the experience for people you appreciate royalty like him.

The Royal Splendor
Built on 40 acres of land, the hotel is designed on the royal and heritage concept that would take you 300 years back in time. Suryagarh is perfectly nestled on top of a low standing hill. With its large doorways at the entrance, water bodies and arches — this architecture marvel transport you to the age of royalty. The hospitality and the grandeur define the concept of royalty perfectly.

The moment you enter the premises, you are welcomed with a shower of rose petals along with the rhythmic beats of large drums and folk artists singing the Rajasthani tunes. The property comprises of with three floors, 62 rooms, and suites; a spa called Rait, a fitness center called Akhara, restaurants called the Nosh and the Legends of Marwad, a bar named as Draksh,Tash- the cards and billiards room, and Neel - the indoor swimming pool. All this beautifully located amidst the lush gardens, elegant courtyards, lakes, and other water bodies.

The Royal Entertainment
The region flavor inspires the bar Draksh decor. The furnishings have a digitally printed image of a typical Rajasthani man with a big mustache, a wall with a man walking camels and motifs of the sun. The bar area is particularly striking with curvy shelves for the bottles and resembles the famous (fierce-looking) Rajasthani mustache. The bar counter is a captivating light box fashioned out of Pakistani onyx.

Akhara is a fully-functional and well-equipped gymnasium with a central sandpit like that of traditional Indian wrestling pavilions. Rait is the unisex spa comprises of individual quarters that include a steam room and a floral bath. A dip in the ‘Neel’ - the indoor pool with deep blue walls – is the perfect way to relax your tired soul. And then end your evening with a visit to the ‘Tash’ - the cards and billiards room - with comfortable seating of the leather-upholstered chairs and wood-paneled walls.

The Royal Flavors
Fine Dining experience takes a whole new meaning in the three specialty restaurants at the hotel:
The Legend of Marwad: The multi-cuisine restaurant celebrates the Marwad heritage and some of the secretly guarded princely recipes and culinary delights for a royal dinner.

Nosh: the all day long dining room is an airy, welcoming space where idleness is a virtue and indecision, a delight.
Draksh: The bar beckons the thirsty traveler with its cooling white walls, speckled with gold. Unwind under amber lights and indulge in the most beautiful spirits from around the world.

The rooms are spacious and very clean. The bathrooms are big and well appointed. And apart from the beautiful place, what makes this hotel stand out is the staff. Vipin and Amara make you feel welcome and special. Ranveer gives fantastic food suggestions and personally sees to it that you are eating well. The entire staff at the hotel are fantastic and very helpful.
